The Shirt (that is neither blue nor white)

Anyone looking into my wardrobe will spot that my current favourite item of clothing is the shirt and this season is set to lure me in a little further as shirts are everywhere.  Well, I would be lured in if I could find a shirt that was neither blue nor white!

So of course the frill and ruffle is a big thing, the addition of bows, ribbons, badges, the bigger the sleeve the better; all trends that have been hanging around and are set to stay.  But 90% of shirts in the shops are either blue or white!  So I’ve been on the hunt to see what else is available.  And here are my top picks…

Okay, pink we know is huge for the incoming season so I found it hard to narrow down my preferences here and I may have snuck in a blouse too but they are too good to miss out;)

Which shade of green do you suit?  It’s a hard one to wear but when there are so many styles for spring, it’s worth a try!  Stripes are always easy but I especially love the sleeve length and detail of the linen shirt from Next.

Everyone needs a military shirt in their wardrobe – I love the open look to soften for spring.

If I was to buy one shirt from this selection, the Stradivarius one would win, but I also find it hard to resist a star print (we can look past the navy blue and straight to the stars?!).

Meeting the cold shoulder and the gingham trends, this shirt from Asos ticks every box but at £9, the Matalan shirt would be hard to pass!

Stripes!  If you find it hard to wear shirts (many females find them too structured, less than flattering around the bust area), a chiffon shirt is the perfect alternative.  Again, I’m always one for breaking style (or post title!!) rules, but look at the back detail of this Topshop shirt!

My actual favourite colour, but not an option in my wardrobe.  The sleeve detail on this one from Warehouse sets it apart!  An easy to wear addition from New Look – the frills are placed perfect to suit most shapes.

So it appears there are many shirts out there that are neither blue nor white, however I have no need to add any of these items to my wardrobe (no matter how much I convince myself they are necessary!).  So instead I will be taking the items I already own and updating them for the season…and this little snippet is my next plan!  Watch out for more;)
