It’s been a while since I’ve written an Outfit of the Day Post (never mind any post, apologies!), but I had to get the camera out for the perfect summer work #ootd!

In case you missed it on Instagram this morning, this was my inspiration. Cool enough for this weather, stylish, and work ready (well for my ‘office’ anyway!).

Shirt (similar here) Topshop – Shorts (similar here) Dorothy Perkins – Brogues Henry Holland

Based on the forecast, I knew I couldn’t get the shoes on, it had to be sandals!  I dug to the bottom of my wardrobe in the pile labelled ‘These will be stylish again…’ and found my white shorts – not the perfect shape, a little more palazzo at the bottom, but they worked well enough to wear.

Polka Dot Top, eBay – White Shorts, Next – Sandals Steve Madden

On trend and not a penny spent – that’s my type of #ootd!  What do you think?

Girl’s Night Out!

A quick #ootd tonight! I love getting out with the girls! Nails and lashes done, face on, and here’s what I wore…

Love my individual lashes from The Lash Lounge
Stella & Dot scarf, stolen on the night (thanks Jude!)

I finally got my own photographer – but I think I still prefer the selfie, no pose required!!

Sequin Jacket – Lipsy
Tee – Masato
Necklace – Zara
Leather Trousers – Oasis
Shoes – M&S

The old favourites were all worn, and as it was Friday night out, a slight dressing down with the t-shirt completed the look.  I also love when you go out, regardless of the weather, you forget about the layers and socks!  What are your old favourites??

A Brave Step

An outfit of the day post for a brave step for me – I wore leggings out as trousers.

Now for some this may be perfectly normal, but I’ve always questioned the status of leggings – trousers or tights? I’m more than happy to wear my wet look leggings out as trousers (with a long-ish top), and I wear my leggings with a shorter dress, but my fears were confirmed when my four year old asked ‘Why are you not wearing any trousers?!’.  I actually had to take my boots and socks off to prove they weren’t tights!

The reason I had changed my mind was to do with the leggings I had bought earlier in the week – I had invested in the £7.99 pair from H&M, rather than the £5.99 pair.  Now £2 is minimal, but the fabric in the more expensive pair was definitely thicker and less stretched.

Here’s how I wore them, what do you think?

Scarf – Topshop £18
Jumper – Sugarhill €65 Bowtique, Dublin
Maison Scotch tee – seen here
Leggings – H&M £7.99
Boots – Xti €65

And on searching for the link to H&M’s website, where did I find ‘Leggings’?  Under trousers of course!!  Case closed.

A Girl Deserves Some Luxury…

I love being off work and getting to wear whatever I want. Admittedly as my holiday was aimed at pure relaxation, some of those days were spent in the PJ’s!

Before Christmas I received a package in the post, my Christmas party dress, and a little surprise. I did promise it wouldn’t take quite this long to show you the surprise but as I said, the PJ’s were out, the computer was away…excuse, excuse!!

I love Soaked in Luxury…you may have read before here, and here. I was more than delighted to win the dress, but hugely excited to also get this little top included in the package.

On first glance, you may think dressy, but I’ve actually worn this more casual, and also inspiring this post as I write, by wearing it with jeans and a simple jumper.

Jumper – Zara
Jeans – Replay
Silver Brogues – Vagabond
Top – Soaked in Luxury

However, it’s first outing was a Christmas Day in work where we all get a little festive and dress up.

Top – Soaked in Luxury
Sequin Jacket – Lipsy
Cords – Next
Belt – Primark
Bracelet – Jackie Brazil
Shoes – New Look

I then changed it to a more casual look as we headed for afternoon tea.

Top – Soaked in Luxury
Jeans – Replay
Shawl – Lowie Handmade
Boots – Aldo
Bracelets – stella & dot

And here are a few other treats as I’m still in A/W mode…

20140106-203831.jpgI’m off to the website now to see what will bring us in to S/S, Soaked in Luxury!

A Cheeky Selfie and an ootd!

I was in Ikea earlier today buying our Christmas tree and took a quick picture, that’ll be a good one for the security cameras!!

20131208-195612.jpg silverbrogues ootdI bought this coat yesterday from a stall holder at a The Fashion Souk – it a faux fur with a hood and the colour works with both greys and browns! It’s actually a children’s coat (hence the length of the sleeves), but it’s perfect for me, especially as it was only £8!

Under the fur is my little jumpsuit which I wore in the summer with bare legs and brogues and now in the winter with tights and boots. This is why my clothes never make it to the roof space;)

And I am carrying my ever faithful handbag, which definitely needs to be replaced. Maybe with this (still loving colour pop!)…
